Die Klappkarte mit Kanten - Eine Blumenkarte mit dem gewissen Etwas

 

Ich weiß ja nicht, wie es euch geht. Aber wenn ich eine tolle Karte geschickt bekomme, die mal so richtig anders ist, dann will ich das auch ausprobieren. Am besten direkt, am besten ohne, dass ich mir extra neue Materialien kaufen muss. 

So ging es mir, als ich neulich von einer Bastelfreundin eine Klappkarte mit Banderole bekam. Und natürlich hab ich es ausprobiert. 

Und weil mir das Ergebnis so gut gefallen hat, und es auch so einfach ging, möchte ich euch heute gerne zeigen, wie ihr so eine Karte selbst machen könnt, ganz ohne Stanzschablone.

Not sure about you... But when I receive a cool greeting card, one that is really special, I got to try it. Immediately, right now, ideally without needing to buy any new tools to do it.

Thats what happened when I recently got a folded greeting card with a bellyband from a crafty friend. And yes, I tried it.

And it was so easy and I liked the result  so much, I just had to share this with you and show you how to make such a card, without any specialty dies.

Wie fangen wir an? / How to get started?

Mit einem Stück Cardstock in der Größe eurer Wahl und einem Scoreboard. Ich habe mir, weil einfach einfach besser ist, ein Stück Fotokarton in A4 Größe genommen

For the start we need a sheet of cardstock of your choice and a score board. For my card I took European standard size A4, simply because simple is best...

Dieses Stück Cardstock habe ich der Länge und der Breite nach genau in der Mitte einmal gefalzt. 

I scored this sheet of cardstock once in length and in width exactly in the middle.

Und dann habe ich dieses Stück einfach mit einem Lineal und einem Bastelskalpell einmal diagonal durchgeschnitten.

And then I simply cut this sheet of paper in half diagonally, using a metal ruler and a craft knife.

Dabei kommt dann nicht eine, sondern gleich zwei Kartengrundlagen zustande. Und die Hauptarbeit ist auch schon getan.

The result is not one, but two card bases. And by that, believe it or not, the main part of the job is already done. 

Eine lila Karte. Nett. Aber doch recht einfarbig... / A purple card. Nice. But rather monochromatic...

Das bleibt es natürlich nicht, denn ab jetzt beginnt der Spaß, das Dekorieren. 

Of course this is just the beginning of the fun. Because now we can decorate it.

Als erste Amtshandlung habe ich mir drei Stück meines Markerpapiers zurechtgeschnitten. Hier nehmt einfach das, was für eurer Bunt-Medium am besten geeignet ist. 

Diese drei Stücke sind jeweils 0,5 cm kleiner als die Kartenbasis, also das noch vollständige Rechteck.

As a first step I cut three white panels from my marker friendly paper. Here you should simply take what is best for your coloring medium of choice.

My three panels are each 0.5 cm smaller than the card base, which is the one whole rectangle.

Endlich! Stempeln! / Finally! Stamping!

Bei Karten wie dieser, bei der ich mehrere Seiten verschönern möchte, nehme ich gern mehrere Stempelsets vom gleichen Designer, so passt alles am besten zusammen. Ich habe mir heute wiedermal meine Favoriten von Sweet Huni / Julie Hickey genommen. Welche genau, findet Ihr weiter unten in der Übersicht. 

For cards like this, where I will be decorating several sides, I like to use different stampsets from the same designer to make sure, everything matches perfectly. For today's card I reached, once more, for my favorites from Sweet Huni / Julie Hickey. You can find an overview on which I used, down below.

 

Für die Innenseite meiner Karte habe ich zunächst einen Schriftenhintergrund-Stempel in hellem lila gestempelt und dann, in einem dunkleren lila-Ton, eine schöne große Blüte darauf. Der Hintergrund ist hell genug, dass ich einfach noch darauf schreiben kann, wenn ich die Karte verschenken möchte. 

For the inner side of my card I first stamped a text background stamp in a very light purpe and then, in a much darker shaped purple a big beautiful flower on top. This background is light enough to be written on, when I want to use the card. 

Innen hui, jetzt kommt außen dran / the inside is nice, now lets tackle the exterior

Die Außenseite wollte ich colorieren, das wusste ich schon. Und unbedingt mit dieser Blume. Aber "leider" ist sie Teil eines Rahmens. 

Aber das macht mal gar nix, zum Glück kann man ja beim Stempeln maskieren. Und das habe ich hier getan. Zwei Mal... 

Ach ja, natürlich habe ich eines der weißen Papiere wieder diagonal durchgeschnitten, und dann beide Hälften bestempelt.

I knew I wanted to color the front page of my card. And I knew I wanted this bloom. "Unfortunately" it is part of a flower frame.

Which is not a problem at all, that's what masking off your images was invented for" And that's what I did. Twice...

Oh, yes, of course... I cut one of the white papers diagonally in half and stamped the same image on both of them. 

So schön kann dann bunt sein...

Aber da waren doch drei weiße Papiere? / But there were three white pieces of paper?

Neue Blüte, selbes Spiel. Aber ein bisschen anders. 

New Flower, same procedure. But a wee bit different.

Ich habe meine Blüte wieder in Lila gestempelt. Und zwar über beide Papierhälften auf einmal, sodass sie perfekt aneinander passen. Anschließend dann mit einem ganz einfachen lila Marker leicht konturiert. Gar nicht so richtig aufwändig. Ein paar kleine hell- und dunkellila Blümchen dazu, und fertig war die dritte Seite meiner Karte. 

I stamped this flower in purple again. I stamped on both paper halves at once, this way they fit together perfectly. Next I used a light purple marker to give the flower a bit more color, but just lightly and simple. Adding in a few light- and dark purple flowers, and the third part of my card was finished. 

Und so sieht meine Karte innen aus. Eigentlich schon fertig. 

And this is what the inside of my card looks like. Sort of finished. 

Aber die Seiten klappen immer etwas auf? / But the folded sides do open a bit?

Jupp, hat mir nicht so wirklich gefallen. Und hier kommt die Banderole ins Spiel. Ich habe mir von einem anderen Stück Cardstock in derselben Farbe einfach einen 3 cm breiten Streifen abgeschnitten und diesen um meine Karte gefaltet. Dann habe ich, das einzige Mal heute, eine Stanzschablone genommen, um eine weitere Blume auszustanzen, sowie ein Stück Cardstock in derselben Form.

Jepp, I didn't like that too much. But that's where the bellyband enters the match. I took another piece of cardstock in the same color, cut a 3cm small stripe and folded it around the card. Then I used, the only time today, a die to diecut a little flower and another piece of the cardstock as backing. 

Das lila Hexagon habe ich dann hinter meinen Papierstreifen geklebt, und das weiße, blumenverzierte Hexagon oben drauf. So habe ich einen sauberen Abschluss für meine Banderole und die Karte kann schön zusammenhalten. 

I adhered the purple hexagon behind my cardstock stripe and the white flowery piece on top. This way I have a clean and nice finish for my bellyband and the card holds together tightly. 

Fertig! / Finished!

Nein, Moment, eins noch, drei klitzekleine Glossie Dots als Zentrum der Blüten. Das musste sein. Ich bin ja immernoch ich..

No, stop, one more... three teeny tine Glossie dots as center of the flowers. These just had to be. I am still me, am I not?

Washitape in Aktion - einfach mal einen Akzent setzen

 

Hallo Ihr Lieben,

das kennt ja wahrscheinlich fast jede von uns, so viele Rollen Washitape im Schrank oder Regal, und so wenig Gelegenheit, es zu benutzen.

Ich hab ja ne echte Schwäche für diese Tapes, und um meine Sucht zu rechtfertigen, versuche ich, sie so oft wie möglich in meine Projekte zu integrieren.

Für diesen Blogpost habe ich es mir mal ganz einfach gemacht:

Hi crafty friends,

I guess, every one of us knows that: sooo many rolls of washi tape in your desks or on your shelves and so few opportunities to use them.

I am known to have a very soft spot for these tapes and to justify my addiction, I try to integrate them in my projects as often as possible. 

For todays blog project, I went with the very easy way: 

Mit Distress Oxides und einer Schablone habe ich mir einen relativ schlichten Hintergrund gestaltet.

Dann habe ich die Blüte aus dem Sweet Huni / Julie Hickey Stempelset "Friendship Flower" in weiß auf Transparentpapier embossed und ausgestanzt.

I created my own background by blending Distress Oxide inks and using a stencil I got a rather soft and light colored base for my card.

I then heat embossed the beautiful flower from the Sweet Huni / Julie Hickey stamp set "Friendship Flower" in white on vellum and diecut that. 

Auftritt: Washitape / Washitape enters the stage

Aber ich brauchte einen Akzent, damit die hellen Blüten auf dem Hintergrund besser zur Geltung kommen und genau dafür sind Washitapes perfekt.

Washitape sind eine schnelle, saubere und vielseitige Möglichkeit, um optische Grenzen zu setzen oder Motive hervorzuheben.

Seht Ihr, wie sie Hintergrund und Motiv miteinander verbinden und doch jedes allein wirken lassen?

For my card I needed to set an accent to make the light white flowers stand out from the background. And that's what washitapes are perfect for.

Washitapes are an easy and versatile option to set visible frames or highlight motives.

See how these tapes connect the image with the background yet let them both keep their character?

Und das geht in allen Farben des Regenbogens, was auch immer euer Vorrat an Washitapes so hergibt. Ich habe mich diesmal für schlichtes schwarz/weiß und silber entschieden .

Noch den Text aus demselben Stempelset als kleines Etikett hinzugefügt, ein paar Glossies dazu gesetzt und schon ist meine Karte fertig.

And this can be done in all colors of the rainbow, whatever your washi stash permits. I decided to go with a very simple black/white and silver.

Just adding a sentiment label from the same stampset, complete with a few glossies and my card is done.

Blumen zum Muttertag - das muss schon!

 

Am Sonntag ist Muttertag. Höchste Zeit also, sich Gedanken zu machen, damit Mama weiß, dass wir an sie denken und sie liebhaben!

Meine Mama wohnt weit weg, und daher werde ich sie diesen Muttertag nicht besuchen. Sie bekommt also einen Gruß aus der Ferne. Und zwar einen, der auch gleich noch als Blumenstrauß gilt!

Next Sunday will be mother's day in Germany. About time to get creative and show mum, that we think of her and love her!

My mum lives rather far away, so I will not have a chance to visit her this Sunday. But she will get a paperhug from afar. And one which also doubles up as a flower bouquet, that's the idea!

Womit fangen wir an / So, what do we wanna work with today?

Diesmal habe ich mich für ein Sweet Huni / Julie Hickey Designs Stempelset entschieden. Nicht wirklich ne Überraschung, oder? Ich mag diesen Stil einfach soooo gerne und kann gar nicht anders...

Heute ist es dieses Set namens Fresh Floral Borders, ist das nicht toll? 

Not so much of a surprise! Once more I decided to go with a Sweet Huni / Julie Hickey Designs stamp set. Well, I just like this style so much, I couldn't help myself...

Today's set is Fresh Floral Borders. Isn't this beautiful?

Die Grundlagen: Design und Stifte / The basics: design and markers 

Diese Karte soll farbenfroh, kräftig und leuchtend werden, und daher habe ich mir eine ganze Reihe von Farben zusammengesucht. Ich liebe ja bekanntermaßen alles, was sich so an Lilatönen in der Welt herumtreibt, und daher wird die Karte für Mama auch lila. Wenn Ihr die genauen Copicnummern wissen wollt, Ihr findet sie am Ende des Artikels. 

Den Kartenaufbau hab ich mir einfach mal etwas anders vorgestellt. Kein Rand oben und unten, und auch kein Schriftbanner in der Mitte. Mit diesem Stempelset geht noch viel mehr!

My card shall be colorful, strong and bright and so I chose a bunch of markers to color it. As I love everything purple, I went with this color range and mum will get a bright purple/violet card. If you are interested in the exact Copic numbers I chose, I will list them at the end of this article. 

The card setup should be a bit different. So instead of a border on top and bottom or a sentiment stripe in the middle, I went with this. See how versatile this stamp set is?

Und los geht's / Let's get started

Wenn ich Motive mit verschiedenen Mustern und Farben verwende, suche ich mir gern die Haupt-Motive zuerst aus, koloriere die und gehe dann zur nächsten, komplett anderen Farbe über, um den Kontrast gut zu sehen. Hier habe ich also zunächst die großen Hauptblumen in der ersten lila-Variante gestaltet. Als nächstes kamen dann grün, und am Ende die ganzen kleinen Blümchen dran...

When I use motives that have different patterns and will go with several colors, I usually start with the main motif and then switch to a completely different color to see the contrast. This time I colored the big main flowers in the first purple variance first. Next were the green leaves, and all the tiny other blooms followed...

Ich wollte, dass meine Karte strahlt, daher habe ich den Mittelstreifen neben den Lilatönen auch noch mit einem glitzernden glänzenden Klebestreifen versehen. Und habe Akzente mit einem silbernen Gelstift gesetzt. Am Ende noch ein klitzekleiner Text und, natürlich, Glossies-Herzen, ist ja schliesslich für die Lieblingsmama!

I wanted my card to shine, and so I added a sparkly glittery peeloff stripe to the purple stripes in the middle of my card. And I added some silver accents using a gel pen. And, of course, some glossy-hearts, because... Well, it's for MUM!

Und fertig! / And finished!

Und schon ist diese Karte fertig. Ging eigentlich recht schnell, ist aber, wie ich finde, wunderschön geworden. Ich hoffe, sie gefällt...

And by that this card was already finished. Didn't really take long, but I absolutely love the result. Now I just hope, mum will like it...

Einfach mal machen...

Ich bewundere ja viele die einfach mal drauf los gelpressen ;-)

Da bin ich noch sehr steif und kann nicht so recht ungeplant loslassen.

Gestern hatte ich dann den Kopf so voll gehabt, es ging von alleine, 

einfach mal zu machen ohne viel zu planen.

Da habe ich mir einen erstellten Hintergrund mit der GelPress genommen und habe drauf los embosst mit WOW Embossing Pulver . Ein wenig bestempelt mit einem Stempel von Carabelle Studio.

Den süßen Vogel von  Rubber Dance habe ich auf ein Rest vom erstellten Hintergund einfach embosst und ausgeschnitten.

 Der Text "Thank you" ist aus einem Set von Sweet Huni Design und ist einfach nur mit Versafine abgestempelt .

Ich hoffe, es gefällt Euch und ihr traut Euch auch einfach mal loszulassen und einfach zu machen.

Zuviel geht gar nicht - Viele Karten mit einem einzigen Stempel gestalten

Ich finde ja, jeder Geburtstag gehört ordentlich gefeiert. Und weil das so ist, bin ich seit ein paar Monaten in einer kleinen privaten Geburtstagskarten-Austausch Gruppe.

Das heißt für mich, dass ich im Schnitt zehn Geburtstagskarten pro Monat in die halbe Welt schicke und mich jetzt schon auf Juni freue.

Das heißt aber auch, ich brauche immer viele Karten. Und schön sollen sie auch noch sein.

I am strongly convinced that each and every birthday is something special and needs to be celebrated. And because of this, I joined a little private birthday card swap group a few months ago.

For me that means sending an average of 10 cards per months to everywhere around the globe -  and l am already excited for June ...

But that also means for me, I always need a lot of cards. And they should be nice, too. 

Der Anfang / The Beginning

Ich suche mir dafür jeden Monat ein ganz besonders schönes Motiv aus. Eines, das auch nach mehrfachem Cholorieren nicht langweilig wird oder nervt, und eines, das hoffentlich vielen gefällt. 

Für den kommenden Monat ist meine Wahl auf diese beiden Sets von My Sweet Huni gefallen, beide gibt es hier und hier bei Dunja im Shop und beide verwende ich ständig und sooo gerne. 

Warum zwei? Weil eines das Motiv hat, das ich haben will, und das zweite einen superschönen kleinen und dezenten Schriftzug. Und das Schöne am Basteln ist ja das Kombinieren, um das Ergebnis zu bekommen, das wir haben wollen, oder nicht?

Every month I choose a very special beautiful motif for these cards. One, that doesn't get boring or annoying even after coloring it a bazillion times, and which I hope, the recipients will like.

For this month's cards I chose these two stamp sets from My Sweet Huni, both are available at the shop here and here and both are heavily used favorites of mine.

Why two? Because one shows the flower image I want to use and one holds the perfect little but nice sentiment. And crafting is all about mixing and matching to achieve the result we want, right?

Wenn man viele gleichartige Karten auf einmal machen möchte, dann führt eigentlich kaum ein Weg an einer Stempelhilfe vorbei. Da gibt es viele verschiedene auf dem Markt, unter anderem hier auch eine im Shop.

Jetzt geht alles ganz leicht. Einmal herausfinden, wo das Motiv hinsoll, und dann so viele Karten stempeln, wie man will. 

If you want to stamp a big bunch of similar cards at the same time, there is almost no way around a stamping tool. There exists a big variety of different ones in the market, so personal preference and wallet may help you to decide. For example this one from the shop.

This step is really easy: figuring out the best placement for your image and stamping as many cards as you want.

Ich find es immer wieder schön, die so aufgereiht liegen zu sehen...

I always like the look of my cards aligned like this...

Jetzt geht der Spaß richtig los! Ausmalen, das hat bei der Menge an Karten durchaus was Meditatives. 

Weil aber alle in derselben Farbe irgendwann langweilig werden würde, wähle ich mir normalerweise mehrere Farben und mache maximal drei Karten mit denselben Stiften. Dadurch bleiben die Karten auch individueller.

Now the coloring fun part can start. With as many cards as these, this can get a bit meditative. 

And because coloring all cards with the same colors can get boring, I usually choose multiple colors and do not make more than three cards using the same color combination. This also keeps these cards even more individual.

Und dann passiert, was oft nicht gezeigt wird, aber ich zeige gern auch die Fehler, die passieren, denn so ist das Leben nunmal.

Weil ich meine Karten in die ganze Welt schicke, möchte ich sie immer gern leicht genug halten, damit ich kein Extraporto dafür brauche. Aus diesem Grund wollte ich meine Karten in einer Schicht halten, nichts ausschneiden und später aufkleben. 

Aber meine Karten umgedreht, hab ich das hier entdeckt:

And then it happens... More often than not, crafters do not show what goes wrong. I am not one of them, making errors is normal...

As I am sending my cards to allover the world, I always try to make them one layer to save on postage and enable me to send more instead.

But turning my card around I discovered this:

Ich habe mit Alcohol Markern gearbeitet, und diese zeigen sich oft auf der Rückseite des Blattes. 

Hier bleibt mir nichts andere, als auf der Rückseite doch noch ein weißes Blatt zu hinterkleben, um diese unschöne Rückseite zu verstecken. Also: Papier geschnitten, mit Klebeband versehen, Umschlag und Karte geschnappt und schnell gecheckt...

I worked with alcohol markers, and these often show on the backside of the paper. 

So here I have no choice but to glue down another sheet of thin white paper inside my card to hide the ugly truth. So: cutting the paper to measure, adhere doublesided tape, grab card and envelope and check:

Puh, die Deutsche Post gestattet der Karte 20 Gramm, ich hab also sogar noch etwas Raum für ein paar Nuvodrops und Washitape für die Umschläge. YAY!

Phew... The Deutsche Post (our letter mailing service) permits 20 grams per cards, so I even got room to add a few nuvodrops and washitape to shut the envelope. YAY!

Krise abgewendet, weitermachen / Crisis averted, let's continue

Meine Karte braucht noch einen kleinen Gruß, hier kommt nun der Schriftzug ins Spiel.

Wenn ich mehrere Karten in derselben Art und unterschiedlichen Farben mache, dann stempele ich auch gern den Schriftzug farbig. Zum Glück gibt es so viele schöne Stempelfarben, da findet man immer den richtigen Farbton.

My card still needs a little greeting, so here comes the sentiment stamp.

When creating multiple cards in different colors, I like to also stamp the sentiment in colors. Luckily there are so many wonderful stamping colors out there, you can always find the right shade.

Und wieder die Stempelhilfe! Die spart einfach so viel Zeit und Nerven. Wer will jetzt schon nach all der Arbeit noch schief stempeln?

And the stamping tool again! This is so much better for your nerves. Who wants to stamp the text crocked after having spent so much time on these cards by now?

Das letzte Tüpfelchen / The finishing touch

Mir gefallen meine Karten sehr, also füge ich noch farblich passende Drops hinzu. 

Hier machen eigentlich Enamel Dots deutlich weniger Arbeit, die gibt es zum Beispiel hier im Shop. Aber ich hatte nicht die passenden Farben, und habe daher zur Flasche gegriffen.... Zur Nuvodropsflasche natürlich...

I really like how my cards turn out, so all they need are some matching colored drops.

Enamel dots would be perfect here, always even and no work, they are available at the shop here.

But I didnt have the right colors at hand, so I had to reach for the bottle.... The Nuvodrops bottle, of course...

Damit bin ich fertig, meine Geburtstagspost für nächsten Monat ist bereit und kann jederzeit geschrieben werden.

Ihr wisst, mir ist Qualität wichtig und daher habe ich die Clearstamps gleich mal einem "Härtetest" unterzogen :) Die Qualität ist sehr gut, sie lassen sich ebenfalls prima für Gelprints verwenden, bitte immer gut reinigen, ich nutze dazu nur ein feuchtes Mikrofasertuch. 

Die Kamera lief mit und so seht ihr hier im VIDEO, wie das TAG entstanden ist.

Die Textur ist mit einem Stencil, Strukturpaste und dem WOW! Embossingpulver, inspiriert von Alexandra Renke, entstanden. Am Ende habe ich auf ein weiters Motiv verzichtet, da mir die Basis so gut gefallen hat, dass nur noch ein Schriftzug gefehlt hat.
