Hi friends! Athena here and I have a birthday card with this adorable little dog from the Penny Black Buddy and Duck stamp set.
I started by stamping the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of copic friendly card stock. The colors I used to color the image are the following:
Dog: E30-E31-E33-E37
Cake: G30-G21-G24, Y11-Y13-Y15-Y35
Then I fussy cut the image and started working on the background.
For the background I blended Faded Jeans Distress Ink through a stripes stencil before die cutting it with the MFT Stitched Rectangles dies, to give it a more finished look. If you don't have a stripes stencil you can easily achieve the same look by ripping stripes of paper and then use it as masks to blend your color.
The sentiment comes from the Penny Black Birthday Love stamp set (lots of fun sentiments in this stamp set!), stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink. A few splotches of Faded Jeans Distress Ink were added with a watercolor brush, trying to stay away from the sentiment area.
I attached the doggy with foam squares and foam mounted the whole panel onto a standard A2 white card base.
As a final touch, I added a bit of Nuvo White Blizzard on the cake and some Wink of Stella clear shimmer on the candle.
